How to disable Mxit chat zones

Mxit is a very useful and cheap way for your child to talk to their friends. The danger comes in when your child uses the chat zones. It is in the chat zones that your child may encounter complete strangers and this is not desirable for kids under 18. Fortunately Mxit have created a parental block tool that allows you to block access on your child's phone to Mxit Chat Zones - follow these easy steps below to block Mxit Chat Zones

Step 1 - open up Mxit on your child's phone and go to the main menu and select "info"

Step 2 - select option 8 "chat safe"

Step 3 - select option 3 "chat zone block"

Step 4 - select option 4 "block chat zones"

Step 5 - select "block"

Step 5 - enter a password

Step 7 - re-enter a password

Step 8 - enter a password retrieval question

Step 9 - enter a password retrieval answer

Step 10 - select "proceed" to confirm the block

Step 11 - you will now see a status message "chat zones are blocked"

Step 12 - This is what your child will see if they try enter into a chat zone
